Asanoha star pattern (asanoha moyou - 麻の葉模様)

Asanoha is a traditional Japanese seamless star pattern. It can be found on many objects (cloth, pottery, marquetry, etc.).

Asanoha means 'hemp leaf' even if the pattern doesn't look really like it. Asanhoa pattern was used on children clothes to symbolise a healthy growth as hemp grows fast and straight.
