Shibori (shiborizome - 絞り染め)
Shiborizome includes different traditional Japanese dyeing cloth techniques. Instead of using wax like batik, the shiborizome technique binds, stitches or twists the cloth so parts are left untouched by the colour. Sometimes the cloth is not flatten afterwards and left with the remains of the different techniques to create special textures.
