Peach (momo - 桃)

Japanese love peaches. The most popular types are white fleshed.

One of the most famous hero of the Japanese folklore is called 'momotaro' (peach boy). The legend is that he was found in a giant peach floating on a river. Rescued and brought up by an old couple he then leaves to live many adventures. On his way he befriends a dog, a monkey, and a pheasant. Victorious of all the obstacles on his way he then returns home as a hero.
