Tsuneko Tanaka was born in Tokyo in 1959. After graduation from the school Ritsukyojogakuin, she studied design at Bunka Fashion College, to become a fashion clothes designer. She discovered later the warmth and charm of pottery. She has worked extensively since to produced pottery that suggest a playful life. Her designs are a mix of Western and Japanese traditions.
