About "noshi" (noshi - 熨斗) :

Noshis are kind of ceremonial origami folds. They are attached to gifts to express 'good wishes'. Noshis are made of white paper folded with a strip of dried abalone or meat, considered as a token of good fortune.

There are many different forms of noshi depending on the ceremony (wedding, New Year, funeral, etc.)
