Roof tile (kawara - 瓦)

Japanese roof tiles are made of clay and often glazed. They can be of various colours including grey, blue or red. Their shape is wavy and the end tiles have often a round disc with a symbol marked on. On temples, some tiles are often in the shape of an Oni (demon).
