Water bucket (手桶 - teoke )

Traditional Japanese water buckets are made of wood with a stiff handle passing across. They are used in gardens, hot spring baths, in shrines or cemeteries for purification purposes. This elegant design is also used in ceramics, lacquer or metal works.
