Japanese scrolls (kakemono - 掛物 / kakejiku - 掛軸 / makimono - 巻物)

There are different types of scrolls in Japan.'Kakemono' or 'kakejiku' are vertical scrolls with a painting or calligraphy glued on a cloth base, usually silk. They are hanged on the wall and rolled for stocking.

'Makimono' is a type of book with writing or pictures telling a story. The 'makimono' is unrolled horizontally.
