Gyouhougama porcelain kiln is run today by Mr Mineyuki Nakazato. His grandfather, Mr. Kingo Nakazato, founded the company in 1951 and produced professional tableware and art work. During his childhood, Mr Mineyuki Nakazato watched his father working in the kiln and learnt a lot from him. Since 1979 he produces his own porcelain. His work is 100% handmade, and every piece he creates is unique.

Gyokuho-gama is located in Mikawachiyama, a region which was already producing porcelain in feodal Japan for the Hirado-han domain.
